I had this moment yesterday while I was sitting with my grandma, brother, and nephew. This feeling of pure bliss. And also realizing how far I’ve come in my anxiety journey.

We were eating lunch outside. The food was great. The view was perfect. There was a slight breeze. And I was in awe of thinking about my grandma hanging out with her great grandson.

I thought about how I was feeling a year ago right now. Anything outside of my usual life routine in nyc often times resulted in bad anxiety.

I didn’t realize how much my anxiety had taken from me. But then I have a day like yesterday where I can *feel* just how different I feel.

If you’re struggling know that you’re not the only one 💗 And it does get better. Little by little.

End of 2020 Journaling Prompts

I’ve always loved using this time of year as a time to reflect. Growing up, I’d write an extensive diary entry about what happened that previous year. Almost every year since I started my blog I’ve written an end of year wrap up reflecting on the previous year. This year of course feels so different. Looking back at what I wrote at the end of 2019 is WEIRD, to say the least.

Journaling has been a super helpful way for me to reflect and take a step back to look at where I’m currently at. Last year I offered 31 journaling prompts to help reflect on the previous year and also set some new intentions for the year ahead.

This year I’m once again offering 31 end of the year journaling prompts. The idea is to do a prompt every day in December. Some of them are the same as last year, some different to reflect on the unexpected shitshow of a year that just went down…

I invite you to take even just 5 minutes every day to jot down some thoughts on the following prompts — I’ll be sharing some of mine on Instagram and giving a daily reminder, too.

31 End of the Year Journaling Prompts:

Looking Back:

1. In one word: how would you sum up 2020?

2. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in 2020?

3. What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from the pandemic?

4. How has the pandemic changed your life the most?

5. Favorite pre-pandemic memory

6. Something you want to remember about life during the pandemic.

7. What is something that you struggled with during 2020?

8. What is something you wish you would have done differently this year?

9. What song will always remind you of 2020?

10. Who were the most influential people in your life this year?

11. What’s the best thing you ate in 2020?

12. Where could you have focused more of your energy this year?

13. What is something you’re proud of this year?

14. If 2020 was a song, what would it be?

15. If you could tell your pre-pandemic self something, what would it be?

16. What was your favorite way to move your body in 2020?

17. What was your relationship with your body like in 2020?

18. Best thing you spent money on in 2020?

19. Biggest regret from 2020?

20. What are you the most grateful for this year?

21. What brought you joy this year?

22. 6-word memoir on life in 2020

23. Favorite memory from this year?

Looking Forward:

24. What’s the number one thing you want to accomplish in 2021?

25. Where do you want to focus your energy in 2021?

26. What are you looking forward to in 2021?

27. What is something new (a subject, hobby, thing) you want to explore in 2021?

28. What is your biggest hope for 2021?

29. What is something you want to let go of in the new year?

30. In one word: How do you want to FEEL in 2021?

31. My mantra or word for 2021 is:

Come with me for a solo evening to go see The Outs Come with me for a solo evening to go see The Outsiders: A New Musical on Broadway (#ad)

As a former theater major who now works in the book industry, I was especially excited to see this book to musical adaptation on Broadway. I remember loving the book in middle school and I was absolutely blown away seeing the musical. My jaw literally dropped at some points, I was so in awe.

@outsidersmusical is now playing at the Jacobs Theatre on Broadway. Be sure to get your tickets at outsidersmusical.com or via the link in my bio.
